Born in 1930 in northern Wisconsin to a schoolteacher and a skilled craftsman, she was raised in a home where learning and creativity were equally valued. Those early influences shaped a life defined by curiosity, discipline, and imagination.
She later moved to Milwaukee, where she attended both high school and college, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in education. After marrying, she settled in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where she raised three daughters while building a meaningful professional life of her own.
An educator at heart, she taught psychology with insight and compassion, guiding students to better understand themselves and the world around them. Alongside her husband, she also embraced entrepreneurship, co-creating customized music boxes — blending craftsmanship and music into cherished keepsakes.
Music has always been central to her life. An accomplished pianist, she has been writing poetry and composing lyrics since her teenage years. Creativity, for her, has never been forced — she often says the words and melodies simply “pop” into her head, and she faithfully writes them down as they arrive.
She is also an avid bridge player, a passion she has enjoyed since her college days. Known for her sharp mind and love of strategy, she plays several times a week at the independent living community on Hilton Head Island where she resides — proving that intellectual curiosity and friendly competition never fade.
Now retired and living on Hilton Head Island, she continues to create. Her days remain filled with music, lyrics, poetry, reflection, and lively games of bridge — proof that inspiration and engagement do not retire.
